Jennifer Aniston has been lying low since her split from Justin Theroux, but on Wednesday night the actress stepped out to support a longtime friend.
The actress attended the premiere of Jason Bateman‘s latest film Game Night at the Chinese Theater in Los Angeles.
While the actress did not walk the red carpet, she quietly slipped inside the event.
Aniston and Bateman have been friends for nearly 20 years and have co-starred in five films together. Aniston is also close with the actor’s wife Amanda Anka. Last year, Aniston gave Bateman a heartfelt tribute when he was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“The part that I’m the luckiest that I get to witness is Jason Bateman the husband, the father, the fantastic friend and, as we lovingly call him, the grandfather,” she said. “It’s like, ‘Is he young? Is he old? He looks 12, he acts 100!’ But even in his most restful state, he is one of the loveliest men to be around.”

Most recently, Bateman and his wife accompanied Aniston on a New Year’s trip to Cabo — which would serve as the actress’ final vacation with Theroux before their split.
Aniston and Theroux announced the end of their two-year marriage and nearly seven-year relationship on Feb. 15 in a joint statement.
“In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation. This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year,” the former couple said in a joint statement. “We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.”
In PEOPLE’s new cover story, sources close to the pair detail how Aniston and Theroux’s clashing lifestyles drove them apart — and how powerful chemistry first drew them together.

Longtime L.A. dweller Aniston’s attempts to adapt to Theroux’s New York City-based lifestyle “made her miserable,” says the source close to her, while Theroux was never comfortable in her luxurious but insular west coast world. “They couldn’t find common ground that made them both happy. It became exhausting and frustrating.”
But despite all the time they spent apart, they tried to save their marriage
“For many months they tried to make it work. They even had therapy,” says the source.
Still, Aniston “seems okay” in the wake of the split, says the source. “She has an amazing life that she loves and is very grateful for. Jen would be the first one to say that she is a lucky girl.”
